A Different Take on Comedy...

Hello and welcome to "my space" on the web. Get comfy, click around awhile, and visit back from time to time. You can never tell what might happen next. I know I sure can't! This guy in the yellow shirt, to the right--I don't know him, either. Nobody could be that handsome.

Actually... it took me 20 minutes to get up again.

AND NOW, THIS...

Without sounding TOO apologetic... Some folks who promote themselves on the Net hire professional web designers who devote entire workdays to perfect their site, between rounds of their Hello Kitty/Need For Speed hybrid gamecube, "parties with Tina" and chugs of caramel espresso macchiatto. Then there's me. I only got ME. Please be patient as I squeeze in a few minutes here and there to shore up unconnected links, and add new ones. Most mornings I manage to button a size 38 pair of trousers around my waist, so I'm well versed at squeezing big things into small spaces in reasonable amounts of time. All will connect to actual content... shortly. In the meantime, have a little fun. You've got the entire rest of the day to multi-task, and be passionate concerning global socio-economic issues.

MONKEYIN' AROUND ON STAGE IN APRIL
No foolin'... I'll be on stage, April 11-12, when Rider McDowell's original musical comedy, "ZOMBIE VOODOO SCREAM PARTY" is unleashed upon the public. It's bound for New York (!) in '09. If you're in town that weekend, come witness the trial-run performances of a show already scheduled for the Big Time! At Monterey's Golden State Theatre.

NO I DIDN'T MISS APRIL FOOL'S DAY...
I wore green.

Yeah, there has been a lot of rethinking and revamping goin' on around here. Ever get that damn feeling that something still isn't just what you want? I've been pulling hair (and I can't afford to do much of that--see photos above) trying this and that. The current design is more in the right direction, I thinks. I know there are some big empty spots--hey we elected one of those to run the country, so don't sweat a few here. I've got lots of content on deck!

Award winning Foster short among DVD special features!

I'm still crowin'! The world's funniest, and possibly filthiest, documentary starring over 100 of the world's top comedians was released in January 2006. Among the DVD's special features is the award winning short "Ball Sack Follies," written and produced by–and starring the voice of–Yours Truly. The DVD is well worth owning, but admittedly not for everybody. As their own ad campaign puts it: "No nudity. No violence. Unspeakable obscenity." My individual clip can also be viewed and read about within the Aristocrats links of websites like MovieWeb.com, dvdmag.com, IFILM.com and RottenTomatoes.com, to name a few.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Sometimes it's the little things...

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

WINTER HAS BEGUN... AGAIN
So much to do, so little cooperation.

Why am I so anxious? At the moment, work, and the ongoing need to keep bills from piling up, has waylayed quality production time. But persistance is the key to success. Luckily my town has both a Dennys and a Carrows, which may look alike, but smell different, so I can alternate my afternoons of staring with a frown upon a blank notebook.

ROB FOSTER:
Who Am Him, Anyway?

Writer, comic actor, producer, director and comedic recording artist, Rob Foster has been honing his craft all of his life. When he was pulled from the womb, the doctor even remarked, "Mrs. Foster, you've just given birth to a five-pound ham!"

Rob has travelled the entire western seaboard as both Professional Actor whose credits include work in national commercials, film and over 75 stage roles; and as Unemployed Bum living in friends' spare bedrooms, in his car, or sleeping at highway rest stops. He has worked as a graphic designer, baker, painter, waiter — he's nearly done it all, between time before the footlights or the camera lens.

Five of his plays have been produced on stage: "Guy Things" (1998), "The Last Stand of Ambrose Bierce" (2001), "Anonymous" (2002) "Mr. Bruce, Do You Swear?" (2004) and "Just Lovely" (2005). The aforementioned "Anonymous" was adapted into an independent short film by director Patrick V. Brown.

His most recent voice-over work was for Rosemount Wines of Australia, and on his own film segment featured on the DVD release of the film "The Aristocrats." A huge cross-section of Rob's wacky universe of voices can be heard on the comedy CD "I'm Rob ...and So Are We" which is available via the links above.

Rob is currently working on a load of new projects including production for his new DVD.

... in the name of all the mavericks. And also... to the givers—to the ones with fixed addresses. A maverick may go his own way but he doesn’t think that it’s the only way or ever claim that it’s the best one—except maybe for himself. And don’t imagine that this raggle-taggle gypsy is claiming to be free. It’s just that some of the necessities to which I am a slave are different from yours.
