Welcome to "my space" on the Web. I'm Rob Foster what is commonly known in the arts & entertainment field as a multi-hyphenate, mainly because I'm the one guy I can afford who's willing to do so much. I'm nearly always involved with something funny. A lot in life is funny, and often when you seek out what's funny in life, you get a glimpse of what's true. Some who promote themselves on the Internet hire teams of caffienated web designers to keep their site current and trendy at the moment, I only have me. Please hang tough, and visit back from time to time, as I yes update this thing on a somewhat regular basis, shore up links to actual content, and even occasionally add new ones. Click around a bit while you're here, and enjoy yourself. Laughter is aerobics for the soul. Come on in and check out some of the stuff I've done, and am currently doing you have the entire rest of the day to be globally sensitive, politically diverse and obsessed over your environmental footprint. And if you can make some time to scrub the shower too, that would be great. LINKS |
APRIL 22, 2009 QUALITY TIME WITH MY HEROES ![]() Once in a while, someone comes along in a formative stage of your life and does a lot more than just inspire you their example serves to inform you of who and what you are, or aspire to become. Recently I had the immense privilege to meet and spend time with four such individuals whom collectively were such a "someone" in mine. The picture above was not created in Photoshop from right to left, that's Philip Proctor, (me in the cheap Hawaiian shirt and multiple chins), Philip Austin, Peter Bergman and David Ossman The Firesign Theatre! That hippy in the back is our 16th President... The group was in town for their show "Forward Into The Past," the 40th Anniversary of Nick Danger, on the 24th, at the historic Golden State Theatre in Monterey. The room you see is the dressing room foyer which sits directly underneath the stage. The theatre building itself dates back to the Vaudeville era. The men had just begun planning the "play list" when I busted in on the proceedings. Fortunately they were in an amicable mood and let me pull up a chair. The photos I took were for publication with my preview article about them. I couldn't quite drive fast enough to beat presstime, but I saved room on the camera chip for a shot with them. The article, and the above referenced photos, can be seen here. PERTINENT "FIRE-SITES": FIRESIGNTHEATRE.COM PLANETPROCTOR.COM |
